	The Sacred Lotus with two lily pads inset with iridized glass in waterfeature. What is sacred about the lotus flower? The lotus flower is one of the most ancient and deepest symbols of our planet. The lotus flower grows in muddy waters and rises above to bloom with incredible beauty. As night falls, the lotus closes and sinks underwater. Then, at next dawn, the lotus rises and re-opens again. The pattern of the lotus growth signifies progress of the soul, from the primeval mud of materialism, through the waters of experience, and on into the bright sunshine of enlightenment. The lotus symbolizes purity of heart and mind. The lotus flower also represents long life, health, honor and good luck
